This mango spinach smoothie is one of our all-time favorites! It’s only 210 calories which makes it one of the lowest calorie smoothies we’ve ever made.

The combination of mango + banana makes this smoothie fresh and sweet while the spinach makes it high in Vitamin A and calcium. The almond milk and vanilla extract pull it all together to make it perfectly smooth and creamy.

If you want a healthy mango and spinach smoothie – this is the one for you!

The trick to making the best green mango smoothie is to get the right combo of ingredients. If you go too heavy on the fruit, it’ll be loaded up with sugar and you’ll be surprised how many calories you’re drinking. If you pick the wrong veggies, it’ll be gritty and bitter.

My wife and I have made hundreds of green weight loss smoothies and this is one of our favorites. It’s also a great smoothie meal prep option! You might also like our healthy blueberry spinach smoothie if you want more antioxidants.

Ingredients for the Best Mango Spinach Smoothie

Mango and spinach smoothies are a staple for our family! The combo of mango banana and spinach makes this smoothie flavorful, healthy, and sweet but not too sweet. I recommend using almond milk, but you could definitely change it up!

Variations to this Mango Banana Spinach Smoothie
Recipe

My wife and I tested several variations of this smoothie before we finalized it! Here are a couple of adjustments you could make if you don’t mind a few extra calories. A bit of protein powder, greek yogurt, or seeds would level up the health benefits.

  • Chia or Hemp seeds – Chia and hemp seeds are both high in fiber and protein! Adding a tablespoon of either (or both!) is one of the best way to make high fiber smoothies for constipation.
  • Kale – If you don’t have spinach, then kale is a great variation! It’s more bitter, but if you soak it for half an hour before blending you’ll be good to go. Check out our list of kale smoothies for weight loss if you want more ideas.
  • Pineapple – Pineapple is one of the best fruits for smoothies! If you want to give this one a hint of tropical flavor, sub it out for the mango. It’s also a great substitute for banana in smoothies and it’s a great source of Vitamin C.
  • Greek yogurt – If you want to add protein to a smoothie, a ¼ to ½ cup of greek yogurt will give you an extra 5-10g. You can also try making our high protein green smoothie recipe which has 35g of protein!

Tips for Making Green Mango Smoothies

My wife and I have made hundreds of spinach smoothies over the years. We’ve made tons of mistakes along the way, but here are 4 tips to help you make the best green mango smoothies possible.

  1. Cut your frozen fruit – I recommend using frozen fruit. It’ll help make your smoothies colder and taste fresher. The only risk is that it can be hard for some blenders. If you are making smoothies in a Vitamix, you’re good to go. You can still make this smoothie in a NutriBullet, but cut your frozen fruit into smaller chunks!
  2. Blend the spinach first – One pro tip is to blend the spinach by itself with the almond milk. This is the best way to avoid stringy bits of spinach. Blend it together for 30 seconds until you have an almost green juice and then add the rest of your ingredients!
  3. Use a powerful blender – Using a strong blender is essential to making great smoothies! We’ve done tons of blender reviews, but our favorite blender for green smoothies is the Vitamix E310
  4. Make them in advance – If you want to drink smoothies every day it can be a hassle to make them fresh. You can store smoothies in the fridge for 3-4 days and you can freeze smoothies for 2-3 months.
