How to Make a Smoothie with a Blendjet

If it’s your first time making a Blendjet smoothie, we’ve got some tips for you. Blendjet’s aren’t quite as simple to use as a Vitamix because they aren’t as powerful.

    1. Add liquid first – Your Blendjet will work best if you add liquid in first! This is true for most blenders as well. Start with your liquid and then layer on other ingredients.
    2. Use more liquid – The more powerful the blender, the less liquid you need. Blendjet blenders are a bit weaker than full size standard blenders so I’d recommend adding in a bit more liquid than normal.
    3. Don’t pack it full – Don’t pack your blender all the way to the brim! There’s a line on the side signaling the max capacity you should load in your blender.
    4. Careful with ice and frozen fruit – Blendjet’s can blend fruit and ice, but it’s good to be careful. I’d chop up your fruit and skip the ice.
    5. Stop and move ingredients towards blades – If your blender starts to get stuck, stop it and use a spatula to push the ingredients towards the blades at the bottom.

Tips for Making the Best Blendjet Smoothies

We’re somewhat new to making smoothies in a Blendjet, but it’s been fun to test t out! A lot of these tips and tricks are common for making healthy single serve smoothies (like our list of NutriBullet smoothies!) If you want to make the best Blendjet smoothies for weight loss, put these tips into practice.

    1. Use Greek yogurtIf you want to make healthy smoothies, then greek yogurt is one of the best ingredients! It’s high in protein, low fat, and helps make smoothies creamier.
    2. Avoid extra sugars – It’s really easy to accidentally make smoothies too sugary. If you’re trying to stay under 400 calories, then you need to choose fruits that are low in sugar. That’s been the key in making our low sugar smoothie recipes.
    3. Careful with your serving size – Smoothies are healthy, but they can be high in calories! The key is to stick to a smaller serving size. I recommend 8-12oz instead of 16-20oz. Blendjet recipes will have a max capacity of 16oz because that’s the size of the blender.
    4. High Fiber – Fiber is essential to making smoothies. We have a whole list of high fiber smoothies and ingredients. A lot of our recipes include spinach, chia seeds, and hemp seeds to get extra fiber in.
    5. Use enough liquid – Blendjet blenders are powerful, but they can get overheated if you don’t use enough liquid. If your Blendjet stops working, add some liquid.

Can you put frozen fruit in a BlendJet?

Yes, you can put frozen fruit in a Blendjet blender! The key is to cut your fruit into smaller chunks and to add extra liquid so the blades can slice through.

Can you put ice in a Blendjet?

You can put ice in a Blendjet, but after testing it a few times we don’t recommend doing it too much.
